  1. Filed under “why we can’t have nice things.” I sent myself a one line, plain text email message: 19 bytes of “ham”. MTAs added 1,420 bytes of “ham headers” (to, from, date, received, etc.) and 4,992 bytes of headers attempting to detect spam. >75% of the message.

      One of those headers: "X-Remote-Spam-greylist: Passed. Delay was 349199 seconds." Four days? The Vogon approval process applied to spam analysis, I guess. (And the reason this particular message caught my attention in the first place.)
